The jury of the Official Selection of the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian Festival will be chaired by the winner of the Golden Shell last year, the director Jaione Camborda, who was the first Spanish female filmmaker to win it. The author of O Corno / The Rye Horn will be accompanied in the deliberations by Argentine writer and journalist Leila Guerriero, who has published this year the book La llamada; actor Fran Kranz who in his first foray into directing, Mass, won the Youth Award at San Sebastian in 2021; Greek director Christos Nikou who has directed Apples and Fingernails, which competed last year in the Official Selection and was recognized with the Fipresci Award; Austrian filmmaker Ulrich Seidl, winner of awards at festivals such as Berlin and Venice, who presented Sparta in the Official Selection in 2022; and French producer Carole Scotta, founder of Haut et Court, who has supported films such as Laurent Cantet's Entre les murs / The Class and La nuit du 12 / The Night of the 12th.
The conversations of the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian Festival include a final talk by the team of the closing film We Live in Time: the director, John Crowley, the screenwriter, Nick Payne, and the leading actor, Andrew Garfield. The conversation will take place on Friday 27th at noon in the Tabakalera cinema. Free invitations will be available on the Festival website, the Zinemaldi Plaza and Tabakalera ticket desks from the day before the event. Accredited guests can book tickets online. This session joins the extensive programme of conversations taking a closer look at the creative processes of filmmakers including Sean Baker, Leos Carax, Laura Carreira and Jane Schoenbrun, among others.
