Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
This year the Made in Spain section will be screening a series of films that provide a vision of Spanish cinema that transcend clichés. These include Tiempo de silencio by Joan López Lloret that deals with the writer and psychiatrist Luis Martin Santos on the 60th anniversary of his death, and Mucha mierda, a documentary on the famous actors’ strike that brought the industry to a standstill in 1975.
Other outstanding films in this section include Rock Bottom, an animated love story inspired by the life and music of Robert Wyatt, that was a hit at the Annecy festival, and another film with a musical background: Isaki Lacuesta’s Segundo premio, which won various awards at the Malaga festival and has just been selected to represent Spain at the Oscars.
