Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Emilie Bujès (France) is the artistic director of Visions du Réel, International Film Festival Nyon (Switzerland), which has in recent years welcomed directors such as Lucrecia Martel, Claire Denis, Werner Herzog, Jia Zhang-ke, Marco Bellocchio, a newly commissioned exhibition of Jean-Luc Godard’s Le livre d’image, Petra Costa, Tatiana Huezo or Alice Rohrwacher, alongside first-time and established filmmakers launching their films as part of the official selection.
Amongst other activities, she has served as a programme advisor for Cannes' Quinzaine des Cinéastes, a deputy artistic director for La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival and a commission member at the Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP) in Paris. Prior to this, she was a curator at the Geneva Contemporary Art Center, an instructor at the universities HEAD in Geneva and HKB in Bern, and contributed to festivals or art galleries such as Vilnius Contemporary Art Centre, the Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival, the Transmediale (Berlin) or Forde–Geneva.
She was the recipient of the Swiss Art Award for curators in 2014 and co-edited a book entitled Encircling the Image of Trauma (published in 2020 by Archive Books, Berlin).
