Pedro Hernández Santos (Madrid) founded the audiovisual production company Aquí y Allí Films in 2010. Since then he has produced more than fifteen feature films, always paying particular attention to young talents. He has received several national and international awards for his productions during his career.
With his first film, Aquí y Allá / Here and There (Antonio Méndez Esparza, 2012) he won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Semaine de la Critique and participated in Horizontes Latinos at the San Sebastian Festival, in whose Official Selection he has competed on three occasions: in 2014, with Magical Girl (Carlos Vermut), which carried off the Golden Shell and was later nominated for the Best Film Goya; in 2017 with Life and Nothing More (La vida y nada más, Antonio Méndez Esparza), which won the FIPRESCI prize and made him the first Spanish producer to win the John Cassavetes Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards; and in 2020 with the documentary Courtroom 3H (Antonio Méndez Esparza). He has also shown twice in Made in Spain: with Hablar (Joaquín Oristrell, 2015), and El fantástico caso del Golem / The Fantastic Golem Affairs (Burnin’ Percebes, 2023).
He was the Spanish representative at the programme Producers on the Move 2016 and one of the Spanish producers attending Cinema from Spain at the Cannes Marché du film in 2022.
Among the titles he has produced in recent years are Mantícora (Carlos Vermut, 2022) Que nadie duerma (Antonio Méndez Esparza, 2023), Alumbramiento (Pau Teixidor, 2024) and As neves (Sonia Méndez, 2024), which competed at the Malaga Festival and has been selected for Made in Spain at the San Sebastian Festival.
