Fan Bingbing (Qingdao, Shandong Province, China) is a Chinese actress and producer. In 2016 she won the Silver Shell for Best Actress at the San Sebastian Festival for her performance in Wo bu shi pan jinlian (I Am Not Madame Bovary, Feng Xiaogang), which also won the Golden Shell for Best Film. The same film also earned her the Best Actress award at the Golden Rooster Awards and Asian Film Awards, and a Golden Horse Awards nomination for Best Leading Actress.
Bingbing's most notable films include Shou ji (Cell Phone, Feng Xiaogang, 2003), Xin zhong you gui (Matrimony, Teng Huatao, 2007), Ping guo (Lost in Beijing, Li Yu, 2007), and Guan yin shan (Buddha Mountain, Li Yu, 2011), for which she was awarded at the Hundred Flowers Awards and festivals such as Golden Horse, Tokyo, and Eurasian Film Festival.
Among her other film credits are My Way (Je-gyu Kang, 2012), X-Men: Days of Future Past (Bryan Singer, 2014), Skiptrace (Renny Harlin, 2016), and more recently, The 355 (Simon Kinberg, 2022), a spy thriller in which she shared the screen with Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger, and Lupita Nyong'o. Her latest film, Green Night (Han Shuai, 2023), premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival.
In 2017, she served as a member of the Official Jury at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, chaired by Pedro Almodóvar. The same year, she appeared on Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people.
Outside of the film industry, Bingbing is also actively involved in philanthropic initiatives. In 2010, she founded the Heart Ali project, which aims to help and treat children in remote areas suffering from congenital heart disease.
