Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Hlynur Pálmason ((Hornafjörður, Iceland) started his career as a visual artist before going on to train as a filmmaker at the National Film School of Denmark. Having directed the short films En Maler (2013) and Seven Boats (2014), in 2017 he directed his first feature-length movie, Vinterbrødre (Winter Brothers) winner of nine Roberts, the Danish film awards, including Best Director and Best Film. The movie competed at Locarno, where it harvested four plaudits, including Best Actor for Elliott Crosset Hove. His next work, Hvítur, hvítur dagur (A White, White Day, 2019), screened at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, where its lead character, Ingvar Sigurdsson, won the Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award.
This year he presents in Zabaltegi-Tabakalera the feature film Godland, premiered in Un Certain Regard at the Festival de Cannes, and the short film Nest, shown in the Berlinale Special section of the last Berlin Festival.
