Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Audrey Diwan (Paris, 1980) is a French director of Lebanese origin. After studying Journalism and Political Science, she began her career as a junior editor at Denoël, before writing and publishing several novels (La Fabrication d’un mensonge, De l’autre côté de l’été…). Deciding to devote herself to screenwriting, Diwan penned a number of scripts for Cédric Jimenez (The Connection, The Stronghold) and collaborated with directors Teddy Lussi Modeste, Gilles Lellouche and Valérie Donzelli. As a director, she has established a very personal and intimate vision. Her feature debut, Mais vous êtes fous (Losing It, 2019), starred Pio Marmaï and Céline Sallete. Her second, L'événement (Happening), adapted from Annie Ernaux’s book recounting her illegal abortion in the 1960s, features a cast of stellar emerging French acting talents (Anamaria Vartolomei, Kacey Mottet-Klein, Luana Bajrami). The film had its world premiere in competition at the last Venice Festival.
