Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
David Pinheiro Vicente (Terceira Island, Portugal. 1996) studied Cinema and Aesthetics in Lisbon. He worked as an art director on several short films and TV series and as assistant to the director Salomé Lamas. His short film Onde o verão vai (episódios da juventude) (Where the Summer Goes [Chapters on Youth]), 2018), competed in the Berlinale Shorts and received a Panavision Special Nominal Mention in Nest at San Sebastian Festival. His short film has shown in more than 40 countries and competitions, landing honorary mentions in Tel Aviv and Vila do Conde, and was broadcast on TV and online by Arte-ZDF. His latest short, O cordeiro de Deus (The Lamb of God), premiered in the official short film competition at the Festival de Cannes.
He is currently working on his first feature film, Between Past and Future, a project selected for the Cannes Festival’s Cinéfondation residence. He has been a student of Berlinale Talents, Locarno Filmmakers and Future Frames. He was listed among the 10 Upcoming Young Filmmakers by the European Film Academy and as one of the Ten New Filmmakers to follow by the European Film Promotion.
