Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Organised by the San Sebastian Festival and Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture, the 19th Nest Film Students initiative will be running from September 21- 23 at Tabakalera, and once again aims to showcase work by film school students from all over the world. On this occasion, 13 short films have been selected from the 348 submitted by 165 schools in 49 countries.
Due to the pandemic this year there will be no master classes by established directors for the students and the makeup of the jury will be quite different to previous years. Three past winners of the Nest Film Students Award, (Francy Fabritz, Tomás Paula Marques and Viktor van der Valk), will be deciding on the winner, who will be receiving the award, sponsored by Orona Fundazioa, and worth 10,000 €, on Wednesday the 23rd at 8 PM at Kursaal 1.
