Marisa Fernández Armenteros (Santander, Spain) has had ties to The Mediapro Studio since 2004 and has participated in the production of films by directors including Fernando León de Aranoa – Princesas (2005), Un día perfecto / A Perfect Day (2015), Isabel Coixet – Mapa de los sonidos de Tokio / Map of the Sounds of Tokyo (2009), and Javier Fesser – Camino, which competed in the Official Selection at San Sebastian in 2008. She has worked on the multi award-winning Carnage (2011), by Roman Polanski, Salvador Allende (2004) and El botón de nácar (2015), both by Patricio Guzmán, as well as on several titles by Woody Allen, such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), Midnight in Paris (2011), and Rifkin’s Festival, opening film of the San Sebastian Festival this edition.
She began her career at the Eurimages co-production fund and at the European Parliament’s audiovisual fund. Between 2005 and 2010, she coordinated the works of the Films in Progress Industry Award at the San Sebastian Festival. She is a mentor of “La Incubadora” film development programme, and a teacher both in the master’s degree in script writing at the Universidad Pontificia in Salamanca and in the master’s degree in executive production at the ECAM. She regularly sits on project selecting juries in countries such as Chile or Colombia. She is currently working on Competencia Oficial, starring Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas and Óscar Martínez, as well as on Fernando León de Aranoa’s coming film.
She personally co-produced El agente topo, by Maite Alberdi, which, after screening at Sundance, is one of the Perlak at this edition of the San Sebastian Festival.
