Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).

Mark Adams is Artistic Director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, which he joined in 2015. Since then, he has overseen a revamping of the event on the international landscape and has driven its emphasis on celebrating local new talents as well as supervising the long-established retrospective programmes. He was Chief Film Critic and Reviews Editor for Screen International for four years and film critic for The Sunday Mirror. He has also written for Variety and The Hollywood Reporter and was part of the launch team for the publication Moving Pictures International. He has also worked at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London as Director of Cinema and, for six years, as Head of Programming at Britain’s National Film Theatre. Apart from collaborating as a programmer with other festivals around the world, he has written several books on cinema and has also acted as a consultant for various UK-based film organisations, such as the British Film Commission and Visit Britain.
