The well-known French actor Louis Garrel has gone behind the camera for the second time to make L’homme fidèle, a romantic comedy that Garrel himself stars in alongside Laetitia Casta and Lily-Rose Depp. Both actresses and the scriptwriter Jean-Claude Carrière accompanied Garrel at the press conference that he gave after the screening of their film yesterday. Garrel co-wrote the screenplay with Carriére and confessed that it was like a dream come true to work with someone of Carrière’s prestige, who had also worked with his father, the director Phillipe Garrel. He had devoted himself to writing the more sentimental parts of the script while Carrière had contributed the tougher elements. He also said that he had tried to mix up the genres a bit by adding some drama to the comedy. Lily-Rose Depp added that it was interesting to see how her character developed during the film from being a child to becoming a woman, while Laetecia Casta revealed that she had put a lot of hard work into creating the tough, radical and manipulative character that she played.
