Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Ricardo Darín says there are situations like receiving the Donostia award that force you to stop for a moment and look back at the path you have taken and this is something he doesn’t tend to do. And on this occasion he acknowledges that it’s difficult to process everything that comes to mind calmly. “I’m really thrilled.” In any case he has never been convinced by awards, as he doesn’t like to highlight someone over another, or think about which film or performance has been better than another. ”I think it’s unhealthy.”
He plays down the fact that he’s the first South American to receive the award and he also says that he credits his creativity to the fact that he doesn’t like remaining in his comfort zone. He explains: “I don’t like losing that dizzy feeling you get when you’re not clear about where you’re heading. That’s why I always like to be in the zone where we don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s more fun.”
