Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Calmin Borel belongs to the collective organisation responsible for the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. His area of expertise includes film programming, screenings and international relations.
He graduated in audio visual production management from Clermont-Ferrand University, where he was president of the University Film Society. He was an organiser of the Videoformes International Multimedia and Video Art Festival from 1999 to 2001.
He joined the permanent staff of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2001. A member of the international selection committee, he initiated The Lab, the Festival’s competition dedicated to innovation where the audience can discover works combining various genres, techniques and artistic backgrounds. He has coordinated several of the Festival retrospectives, such as "Taming the Dragon" on China in 2015, "Light is Calling. American Films" in 2014, "Superhero (please check your Kryptonite at the door)" in 2007 and "British Focus" in 2006. He is also head of the "Decibels!" special music programme.
