Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Federico Veiroj (Montevideo, 1976) is a Uruguayan-Spanish filmmaker, producer and director. He has been writing, producing and directing short and feature-length films since 1996. He co-produced and directed his multi award-winning first feature, Acné (2008), premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Festival in 2008. La vida útil (A Useful Life, 2010), released at the Toronto and San Sebastian Festivals, is his second feature as a producer and helmer, and another multi award-winner at festivals around the globe. El apóstata (The Apostate, 2015), filmed in Madrid, his third feature as a director and producer, premiered at the Toronto International Festival in September 2015, going on to win the FIPRESCI Prize and a Jury Special Mention at the San Sebastian International Festival in 2015.
In 2015 Veiroj’s shorts and three movies were part of a retrospective at the Viennale - Vienna Film Festival, and in May 2016 the Harvard Film Archive also exhibited a season of his films.
