Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
A selection of the year’s feature films, not yet released in Spain, produced totally or partially in Latin America and directed by filmmakers of Latin origin or set in or on the subject of Latin communities across the world.
All films in the Horizontes Section compete for the Horizontes Award, carrying €35,000 for the director and distributor in Spain.
The Horizontes Award Jury is responsible for assessing the films and deciding the winner.
First or second features by a director included in the Horizontes Selection will also compete for the Youth Award, attributed by a Jury of some 300 youngsters between the ages of 18 and 28.
