When we flew to South Africa we never intended to make a film about a little boy trying to surf. We just happened to meet him. Paul loves surfing, which isn’t an obvious sport for the underprivileged boys of South Africa, nevertheless he is determined to become a great surfer. Meeting Robby Naish was something he had never expected. And now Paul’s idol is telling an inspiring story about him. Paul´s way of encountering life again inspired us from the moment we met. When he told us we couldn’t pick him up at his home… because it was Saturday.
