Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The Antonio Elorza Velodrome will be once again the venue for several Festival activities. On 27th September the special session will include a broadcast of the closing gala, the Official Selection closing film, Samba by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, and the movie closing Pearls, Escobar: Paradise Lost by Andrea Di Stefano. The screening of three short films from the Kimuak catalogue, which are part of the Zabaltegi section Soroa / The Field by Asier Altuna, Hubert Le Blonen azken hegaldia / The Last Flight of Hubert Le Blon by Koldo Almandoz y Zarautzen erosi zuen / She Bought It in Zarautz by Aitor Arregi will complete it.
Every morning the Velodrome will host a session for schoolchildren thanks to the Festival's agreement with Basque ikastolasand schools. This year we will screen the film Friends: Mononokeshima no Naki / Friends: Naki on the Monster Island dubbed into Basque (with the collaboration of Zineuskadi in the frame of the programme Zinema Euskaraz) and Spanish.
Besides, the animation film Dixie eta matxinada zonbia / Dixie and the zombie rebellion by Ricardo Ramon and Beñat Beitia will have its world premiere at the Velodrome.
The Velodrome will also host on September 26 the special screening of one of the Savage Cinema films: On Any Sunday - The Next Chapter by Dana Brown
A hugely popular section screening big premieres to packed sessions in a cinema with seating for an audience of 3,000, cutting-edge screening systems and a giant 400 m² screen.
Every morning, the Velodrome is set aside for a kids’ audience. Thanks to an agreement with Basque primary and secondary schools, the Velodrome offers an exclusive programme treating schoolchildren to a film in Basque on the giant screen.
