Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Once again the giant screen at the Antonio Elorza Velodrome will be providing the setting for a wide variety of activities at this year’s Festival.
The animated film Dixie and the Zombie Rebellion will receive its world premiere on Sunday the 21st. Dixie is a character who’s already well known among young cinema-goers as she was also the star of Daddy, I’m a Zombie which was nominated for a Goya award in the best animated film category.
On the 26th there will be a special screening at the Velodrome of one of the films in the Savage Cinema section: OnAny Sunday-The Next Chapter by Dana Brown. This is a sequel to the classic motor-cycle racing documentary On Any Sunday made forty years ago by his father, Bruce Brown.
On the other hand, the traditional “parallel closing ceremony” on the 27th will include the live broadcast of the award-giving ceremony at the Kursaal, the screening of Samba, the film that will be closing the festival, as well as the film that will be closing the Pearls section Escobar: Paradise Lost starring this year’s second Donostia Award recipient, Benicio del Toro.
