Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Rémi Bezançon, holder of a diploma from the École Superieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (ESRA, Paris), directed his first feature film in 2005, Ma vie en l'air (My Life in the Air). His second, Le premier jour du reste de ta vie (The First Day of the Rest of Your Life, 2008), landed a César nomination for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. Zarafa marks his debut in animation. Jean-Christophe Lie, trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, debuted as an assistant animator for the Walt Disney studios in Montreuil in 1995. In 2009, he directed his first animated short film, L’homme à la Gordini, selected for the 62 Festival de Cannes and nominated for the 2011 César Awards.
