Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Pamplona, 1973. Having trained as a journalist, he began working in Madrid as a reporter for the Canal Plus and CNN+ news programmes. He was an editor for cultural programmes, coordinated literary slots (Los cinco sentidos, Sautrela), and directed the series Maestros de la cocina vasca for ETB (Basque television) with the chefs Arzak, Subijana, Aduriz, Berasategui and Arbelaitz.
Since 2002, he has been writing travel features for the El Viajero supplement of El País in addition to coordinating and teaching the documentary module of the MA in Audiovisual Screenplays at the University of Navarre. Author of a photography project entitled “Las ciudades visibles” (Visible cities), endorsed by Enrique Vila-Matas and Esther Ferrer, he also led an Abstract Photography Workshop for children at the Chillida-Leku Museum.
His first feature film, Emak Bakia baita, was selected by the San Sebastian Festival for its Zabaltegi-Specials section in 2012 and has toured 40 international festivals, where it has won six awards.
This year, 2013, he has taken up the position of artistic director of the Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival in Pamplona.
