Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The Argentine Santiago Loza has written and directed the film La invención de la carne that he is presenting here in San Sebastián after its screening at the Locarno Film Festival. He describes it as a film about a relationship between a woman who offers her body to medical students for practice and one of the students who becomes obsessed with her, told in a dream-like, almost unreal way.
He’s no stranger to the Festival as this is the fourth time he has come here since his film Extraño was chosen to take part in Films in Progress in 2001. He’s guarded about its chances of winning the Horizontes Latinos prize, “as this year the competition is really tough”
