Director Xabi Molia and actress Julie Gayet presented their film Huit fois debout yesterday along with the producers, Christine Molia, the director’s sister, and Nadia Turincev. The film takes a humorous look at such topical subjects as unemployment, loneliness, and housing problems, and the director stressed that these were not just matters that concerned the deprived sectors of society.
Molia said that it was really incredible for them to have been selected to take part in the San Sebastián Film Festival and show their film for the first time here.
The young Argentine director, Pablo Agüero, and the actress Anne Chrétien also presented their film 77 Doronship yesterday in Zabaltegi. It tells the story of a young French girl whose Argentine husband abandons her when she is nine months pregnant. The director pointed out that it is the only fictional film in which the leading character is about to give birth, while the actress, who was in her first film, joked that she didn’t know if she would act again if she wasn’t pregnant.
