In actual fact he has nothing, yet in his very lack of awareness he’s happy.” This is how Antonio Banderas describes Ralph Cortés, his character in The Other man, which is one of the reasons why he has come to San Sebastián this year, although it is not the only one – he is also going to be presented with the Donostia Award tonight by Pedro Almodóvar. Director Richard Eyre, who accompanied Banderas at the press conference he gave after the screening of their film yesterday acknowledged that with The Other Man he had aimed to go beyond the usual stories about men who have parallel relationships with wives and lovers. “I wanted to tell the story of a woman who has relationships with various men in parallel.
