Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Director of the Film Archives of the Canary Islands (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1956). He graduated in Architecture, specialising in Construction and Town Planning, and showed an early interest in films that led him to organise a season on Cinema and Architecture in 1990, and in the same year he began to write on a weekly basis about films and television for the "Diario de Avisos" in Tenerife. Shortly afterwards he began to work on "Teide Radio" where he ran a weekly programme on cinema. In 1993 he was chosen to be the first President of the Film Writers Association in the Canaries and since 1995 he has been a member of the Spanish Association of Film Historians, for which he has written various papers that he has presented at the various congresses that they have held. During the 90's he has carried out research on everything connected with films in the Canaries, as well as forming part of the Commission from the Ministry of Culture that drew up the audiovisual regulations in the Canaries. In 1996 he took part in the season and exhibition "Architecture and Filmmaking. A hundred years of artistic directing in cinema. A Homage to Gil Parrondo", organised by the Athenaeum in Madrid. He has written eleven books including: "Builders of illusions", 1999, and "The architecture of dreams". "Interviews with Artistic directors of Spanish cinema", 2001, "Spanish film studios", 2002. At the moment he is preparing the books "Theory and practice of film set design" and "David Cronenberg" together with Ana Pérez.
