Synopsis
Philadelphia, 1925. Illustrious pianist Goronoff wearily listens to a series of young scholarship candidates, only one of whom, his old Viennese friend Hassman's daughter Myra, is capable of breaking the monotony with her talent and verve. Only four weeks of intensive training from the maestro have the girl playing the instrument like a virtuoso and professing submissive love for her instructor. Setting off on a highly successful tour, the atmosphere is tainted by Goronoff's treatment of the girl as one of his creations rather than as an equal.
