Determined to make good of his last chance to become an actor, Tete Morán is even capable of ignoring his own death. Unfortunately, his physical aspect reduces his options somewhat and he can only get parts as a zombie. His companion in the adventures of an existence somewhere between life and death is his best friend and popular model, the hunchbacked Gastón. Unknowningly caught up in a sinister pharmacological experiment run by Rector Kramer, who combines academic business with shady business deals, Gastón becomes the victim of a series of murder attempts which are investigated by judge Esmeralda, the object of his hopeless love.
