"Z365" o "Festival todo el año" es la nueva apuesta estratégica del Festival en la que confluyen la búsqueda, el acompañamiento y el desarrollo de nuevos talentos (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); la formación y la transmisión de conocimientos de cine (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Diálogos de cineastas); y la investigación, la divulgación y el pensamiento cinematográfico (el proyecto Z70, Pensamiento y debate, Investigación y publicaciones).
Andalusian regional pubcaster Canal Sur invested so far this year Euro5 million ($7.1 million) in film and TV movies.
Unveiled Tuesday, during the 3th Andalusian Audiovisual Day at San Sebastian, broadcaster’s financial support for its regional film industryfor the period 2007-08 reaches $15.0 million, spread over 18 feature films, 16 TV movies and 31 documentaries.
“We go surpass Spain’s 5% broadcaster investment quota because we have a vocation to do so,” said Canal Sur director Inmaculada Gonzalez.
The Andalusian Day also served to prove the solid institutional backing for the first edition of the Seville International Locations Expo, which will run Nov. 6-10, 2009.
SILE will coincide with the Seville European Film Festival, Nov. 7-15, which opens with Matteo Garrone’s Neapolitan mafia drama “Gomorra".
Recently missing filmmakers Rafael Azcona and Humberto Solas and Alta Films Enrique Gonzalez Macho will be honored at the upcoming 34th edition of the Huelva Iberoamerican Film Festival.
Also, Granada’s Cines del Sur fest, which celebrates its 3th edition.
June 13-20, announced a film retrospective dedicated to the early years of the Cuban Revolution, seen from an international viewpoint.
