Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Savage Cinema is a kaleidoscope of outdoor adventure, intimate portraits, as well as subculture and youth culture phenomena uniting various interests, genres and communities. It is a gathering for urban individuals, documentary fans and outdoor enthusiasts – giving a unique insight into subjects that influence our daily life and eventually become part of pop culture.
The section, created 5 years ago, in collaboration with Red Bull Media House, has established itself as a space to explore bold ventures and extraordinary biographies. Savage Cinema has presented a total of 30 films of different genres and themes from over 10 countries. A heterogeneous program of documentary features, scripted films, and works that follow the concept of “savage”, a dazzling showcase of the extraordinary.
The poster of its fifth edition, imitates the natural park postcards of the 60s, it is an invitation to spectators and moviemakers, who haven’t yet discovered the world of Savage Cinema. Films finalized since October 2016 and not yet premiered in Spain are eligible to submit until July 16th.
