Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Albertina Carri (Buenos Aires) studied at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. A director, producer, screenwriter and audiovisual artist, she is known for her versatility and constant research into different genres.
She has directed the feature films No quiero volver a casa (I Don’t Want to Go Home, 2000), Los rubios (2003), Géminis (2005), a contender in Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastian after having shown at the Quinzaines des Réalisateurs in Cannes, La rabia (2008), which screened in the Panorama section of the Berlin Festival and also participated in Horizontes Latinos, Cuatreros (2017), included in the Forum section of the Berlin Festival and Las hijas del fuego (The Daughters of Fire), which won the Best Argentinian Film Award at the BAFICI and was included in Zabaltegi-Tabakalera. Her project Los extraños de la montaña helada was selected for the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum in 2018. She was, for its first four editions, the artistic director of the Asterisco International LGBTIQ+ Film Festival, in which she now collaborates as a programmer.
During 2021, she was a scholar of the DAAD artists programme in the city of Berlin. She has published the books Cartografía de una película (2007), Retratos ciegos junto a Juliana Laffitte (2020) and Lo que aprendí de las bestias, her first novel (2021).
She was a member of the Kutxabank-New Directors Jury in 2010.
