Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
British actor Joe Alwyn (1991) studied English and Drama at Bristol University and then at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He made his acting debut as the title role in the 2016 war drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (Ang Lee). In 2017 he starred alongside Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling and Emily Mortimer in Ritesh Batra’s The Sense of an Ending (2017), based on the book by Julian Barnes. Operation Finale (Chris Weitz, 2018) saw Joe starring as Klaus Eichmann alongside Oscar Isaac and Ben Kingsley. Also in 2018 came Boy Erased from Joel Edgerton, who directed and starred in this film alongside Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman, and Mary Queen of Scots (Josie Rourke), featuring Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan. Joe was awarded in 2018 the Male Revelation of the Year Chopard Trophy at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2019, he starred in Harriet (Kasi Lemmons), alongside Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr, and Janelle Monae and he also performed in the BBC’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, opposite Stephen Graham and Guy Pearce. That year Joe was also seen in Yorgos Lanthimos’ highly acclaimed film, The Favourite, starring opposite Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman. Next year, Alwyn will star in Last Letter from Your Lover (Augustine Frizzell) alongside Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley and BBC Film’s The Souvenir: Part II opposite Tilda Swinton and Richard Ayoade.
