Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Invited by the San Sebastian Festival, Pascal Ridao and Philippe Van Leeuw, cinematographers and members of the AFC selected six short films at the last edition. Attended by their directors and respective cinematographers, all invited to Paris, Cameflex-AFC programmed the following works: After Rave by Kamile Milasiute, images by Vytautas Katkus (Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre), Don’t hit the ground by Mia Spengler, images by Jan-Marcello Kahl (Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg GmbH-Germany), Checkpoint by Adam Felix, images by Peter Duzek (The Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava-Slovakia), Después de la Z by Rodrigo Cervantes, images by Vincent Weiler (The London Film School), Greenland by Oren Gerner images by Adi Mozes (Minshar for Art-Israel) and Los resentidos by Pablo Álvarez , images by Roberto Ormazábal (Instituto Profesional Arcos-Chile).
All were able to participate in the Cameflex-AFC meeting and programme dedicated in this, its third edition, to the great cinematographer Luciano Tovoli, with a selection of films for which he produced the lighting: from Maurice Pialat to Barbet Schroeder, from Ettore Scola to Dario Argento, from Michelangelo Antonioni to Marco Ferreri. The participants were also able to exchange ideas with the cinematographers who sponsored their stay in the French capital: Gérard de Battista, Jimmy Glasberg, Vincent Mathias, Philippe Van Leew and Dominique Gentil, in addition to enjoying the masterclass given by Luciano Tovoli, moderated by Dominique Maillet, also attended by Jacques Perrin (actor and producer), Yves Agostini (camera operator), and Jacob Berger (filmmaker).
