Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Yesterday, the Spanish Association of Cinematographic Informers (AICE) announced its Feroz Awards for the best Spanish cinema of 2014. Three of the national productions presented at the 62nd edition of the San Sebastian Festival garnered several of the highest awards.
La isla mínima, directed by Alberto Rodríguez, carried off Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Javier Gutiérrez), Best Original Score and Best Trailer. The film had previously landed the Feroz Zinemaldia 2014 Award, an accolade for best film in the Official Selection at the 62nd edition according to the Spanish press covering the event.
For its part, the winner of the Golden Shell at the 62nd edition, Magical Girl by Carlos Vermut, bagged Best Leading Actress (Bárbara Lennie), Best Supporting Actor (José Sacristán), Best Screenplay (Carlos Vermut) and Best Poster.
Lastly, Loreak by Jose Mari Goenaga and Jon Garaño earned recognition with a Best Supporting Actress Award for Itziar Aizpuru.
