Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Yesterday saw presentation of the XX José María Forqué Awards, granted by EGEDA, the Audiovisual Producers’ Rights Management Association. Three films presented at the last edition of the San Sebastian Festival were acknowledged with awards in the different categories.
The Best Feature Award goes to the film by Alberto Rodríguez, La isla mínima, which competed in the Official Selection at the 62nd edition where it landed Best Cinematography and Best Actor Award for Javier Gutiérrez. The actor now carries off the José María Forqué Best Actor Award.
For its part, the Best Actress Award goes to Bárbara Lennie for her work in Magical Girl by Carlos Vermut, winning film of the Golden Shell and Best Director Award at the last edition of the Festival.
And the Best Latin American Feature Film Award is bagged by Relatos salvajes by Damián Szifrón, a Spain-Argentina co-production by El Deseo and K&S Films premiered in Spain as part of the Pearls section at the Festival, following its screening at the Cannes Festival, and which won the Audience Award for Best European Film.
